This applied statistics course covers statistical methods used in support of graduate research projects. Using statistical software, the following topics are introduced and discussed: descriptive statistics, hypothesis testing, inference based on a sample, associations between categorical and/or interval variables, regression, and visualization of data and results. Means testing methods covered are t-tests, ANOVA, and MANOVA. Emphasis is placed on the correct interpretation of results and how to select suitable analysis method(s) for a given situation.
