MAC 622 - Theories of Counseling, Psychotherapy, and Personality (3 )

This course explores contemporary theories of counseling, psychotherapy, and personality.  This course introduces students to a broad range of counseling theories, personality theories, and family systems theory.  Basic models for individual, couple, and family counseling will be reviewed.  Students will learn how to conceptualize treatment within each modality discussed from a family systems perspective.  Course work includes studies in basic theories, principles and techniques of counseling, and their application to professional counseling settings.
