This course is designed to strengthen knowledge and instructional skills of teachers in early literacy instruction. Emphasis is placed on strategies for use with students that yield improved vocabulary development, phonetic skills, reading fluency, comprehension, and writing, as they relate to overall enhancement of reading comprehension. Participants will work to strengthen classroom methodology in addressing content and skills that yield an effective and literate learning environment in an elementary classroom.
