REA 629 - Literacy Assessment, Diagnosis & Remediation (3 )

In-depth study of reading problems, assessment procedures and use of test results to create individualized instructional plans that are differentiated to match the learner, whether a struggling reader or English language learner, will be accomplished. Diagnostic instruments and procedures for identifying learning problems and planning remedial instruction will be practiced. The course integrates a practical component through a case study with field experience, providing candidates with hands-on opportunities to apply theoretical knowledge in real-world educational settings. Through this multifaceted approach, educators acquire the skills and expertise needed to effectively support the literacy development of all students.
