REA 608 - Early Literacy Instruction (3 ) GR
Literacy development is the focus of this course, which focuses on concepts, materials and teaching strategies for oral language development and systematic development of early reading and writing skills. Concepts about print, phonemic awareness, and phonics are covered systematically, along with scientifically research-based instructional methods and learning activities for use with beginning readers. Through rigorous study and practical application, educators gain the expertise needed to cultivate strong literacy foundations in students, setting them on a path towards proficient reading and writing.
