EDU 776 - Politics of Educational Change (3 ) GR
Consider and analyze the historical foundations that frame the thoughts and debates concerning educational change issues. Investigate what it takes to achieve policy change in public education. Analyze case studies that portray how and why education policies transpire and how policies progress or do not progress at the federal, state, district, and/or local school levels. Consider and examine connections between policies and classroom practice and address the impact of policies on school improvement, curriculum, and student learning. Review and critique policies, drawing on research and feedback from policymakers. Consider and learn how to take an active part at all levels of government to help identify and shape future educational policies by being proactive.
