An in-depth study of the Mississippi College and Career Readiness Standards in the areas of mathematics and ELA will be accomplished in this course. Teachers must incorporate into their teaching a high level of rigor, relevance and applicability so students learn skills required for the workplace. Before this is possible, teachers need to deeply analyze and comprehend the standards and their implications for instruction, assessment, and student progress. This course is designed to ensure that the practicing teacher employs cutting-edge instructional and assessment practices that yield maximum student achievement in literacy and math.
