This didactic and clinical course is designed to prepare students to acquire skills in nursing management in health care systems. The student will synthesize management theory and evidence pertaining to management processes, as well as developing the skills of delegation, conflict management, and leadership. Legal and ethical issues are discussed with a focus on personal accountability and responsibility. Standards of practice and the significance of functioning according to state regulations and statutes are analyzed. Application of leadership and management principles will be demonstrated within a variety of health care environments.
